  3.                       ATARI COMPUTER ENTHUSIASTS (NSW)

  5.  Atari Computer Enthusiasts (NSW) is an independent, non-profit
  6.  computer users group for owners and users of Atari Computers.  While we
  7.  are recognised by the Atari Corporation throughout the world, as the
  8.  official Atari Users' Group in NSW, we have no connection with them.
  9.  ACE NSW was founded in 1982, catering at first to the 8 bit Ataris.
  10.  Following the inception of the Atari ST, the club's membership is now
  11.  predominantly made up of ST owners.
  12.    Our aims include the promotion of the various Atari personal Computer
  13.  Systems, the education of both beginners and advanced users in
  14.  programming techniques, exchanging, hints, tips, ideas, and explaining
  15.  the special features of Atari Computers.
  16.    ACE NSW has twenty officer positions, elected annually, responsible
  17.  for carrying out the various functions of the club.

  19.  Sydney ACE has more than 350 members, a monthly meeting, a bi-monthly disk
  20.  based newsletter, a very extensive public domain software library, and an
  21.  excellent FidoNet bulletin board. If you have an Atari then you should be in
  22.  ACE. It's as simple as that, no ifs, buts or excuses.  ACE offers support
  23.  for new members, and helps keep the advanced user in touch with the latest
  24.  news in the ATARI world. No matter what experience you have on computers,
  25.  ACE has a lot to offer.

  28.  Members receive 5% to 10% discounts on software/ hardware purchases at
  29.  various retailers, on presentation of their membership card.
  30.  The club purchases blank disks in bulk and offers them to members at
  31.  cut prices, when available.

  33.                NEW ACE MEMBERS RECEIVE 2 FREE STARTER DISKS.

  35.  The programs on these disks have been carefully selected to provide all of
  36.  the essential utilities and information to help you get the most out of your
  37.  Atari computer.  All ACE members receive the bi-monthly disk based
  38.  newsletter and are encouraged to attend the monthly, new format Saturday
  39.  afternoon club meetings at the University of Technology in Ultimo.  Meetings
  40.  are held on the FIRST SATURDAY of EACH MONTH at 1.30 pm in room 435 Ground
  41.  Floor of the Engineering Building.  Please look at the Bulletin Board in the
  42.  main Foyer of the Uni for any changes in meeting rooms call the ACE (NSW)

  45.                                 PD SOFTWARE.

  47.  Access to the latest top public domain software.  We are constantly seeking
  48.  out the very latest and best US and European PD software.  Our library sells
  49.  PD disks for $7.00 for members or $10.00 if you are not a member.  Our PD
  50.  library has monthly specials and quantity purchase discounts.

  52.                           PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS.

  54.  At our monthly meetings over the last year we have had product
  55.  demonstrations from ATARI, The Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Bava's
  56.  Music Centre.  Our meetings offer a forum to meet other Atari users, access
  57.  to our magazine library, and of course a look at new machines and software.

  59.                    DAILY US and EUROPEAN BBS CONFERENCES.

  61.  We get the FidoNet US Atari conference, US programmers conference, European
  62.  Atari conference, the Australian Atari conference and local echo areas.  We
  63.  also cater to BBS members who like to play online games, we have at least
  64.  two online games going, sometimes more.  We have a very wide range of public
  65.  domain software on our BBS and the latest weekly online US Atari magazines.

  72.  ACE members receive our bi-monthly disk magazine. We are one of the clubs
  73.  pioneering this magazine form. It's neat, tidy, fully menu driven and easy
  74.  to use, and is a no waste alternative to paper.  THIS YEAR New machines are
  75.  shipping for all levels of users from workstations to home computers.  Atari
  76.  is shipping the STe / Mega STe & TT.  Professional Atari workstations are in
  77.  the hands of the Atari product developers, software companies are continuing
  78.  to develop and upgrade new and innovative applications software.  This flyer
  79.  was produced using an Atari Public Domain Word Processor called STWriter
  80.  which is available from ACE(NSW).  WHY JOIN ACE?  If you have a machine
  81.  that sits in the cupboard and you really wonder what you are going to do
  82.  with it, fine, don't join ACE.  If on the other hand you want to meet other
  83.  people who enjoy exploring their Atari machines in a diverse range of
  84.  applications such as Midi, BBS's, Education, Games, Accounting, Desktop
  85.  Publishing and Home Video, as well as running IBM and Macintosh emulators,
  86.  then JOIN ACE. Send the membership form to the GPO Box.

  96.  Registration for ACE Buletin Board is $10.oo p.a. ($20.oo for non-ACE
  97.  members). This covers the administration charges associated with the
  98.  general running and maintaining of the on-line 24 hour system.  Don't
